Short box braids for men

Short box braids for men are individual braids that hang loose from separate sections. Compare a face-framing finish, beaded ends, an asymmetrical bob and diamond partings.

Framing the face Several braids fall beside the forehead and cheeks. Notice where the front braids end: changing their length changes how much they frame the face.

Beaded ends Wooden beads and gold-coloured details highlight selected ends. The other braids stay plain, alternating the finishes.
Man with an asymmetrical braided bob, a side part and one side longer than the other.
Asymmetrical bob A side part separates the braids into two lengths: one side ends near the ear and the other reaches the jaw.

Diamond-shaped sections Here the angles form diamonds at the roots. Each section has an individual braid rather than a row attached to the scalp.

What to decide before choosing your box braids

  • Length: show where you want the front, side and back braids to end. “Short” does not describe the same finish for everyone.
  • Finish: compare how the braids fall on each side and whether you want beads on selected ends. Show which detail in the photo you want to keep.
  • Sections: look at the roots too. Section size and braid thickness are considered separately when adapting the reference to your hair.
